Remove the fixing screws of the valve cover and carefully take off the valve cover, being cautious not to damage the valve cover gasket. Use a hand crank to rotate the crankshaft or pry the flywheel to position the first cylinder at the compression top dead center. Select a feeler gauge of the appropriate specification and insert it between the valve stem and the valve rocker arm. Gently pull the feeler gauge; if there is slight resistance, it indicates the correct clearance. Loosen the fixing nut, insert the feeler gauge into the valve clearance, and with one hand pulling the feeler gauge and the other turning the adjusting screw until slight resistance is felt on the feeler gauge.

What Causes Engine Idle Vibration in Cars?

The causes of engine idle vibration in cars are: 1. Throttle blockage, carbon buildup, or abnormal opening; 2. Carbon buildup or blockage in the fuel injector; 3. Spark plug burning or damage; 4. Use of low-quality gasoline leading to fuel pump blockage; 5. Incomplete combustion of the air-fuel mixture in the cylinder. The solutions for engine idle vibration are: 1. Clean the fuel system and check if the idle control valve needs cleaning due to carbon buildup; 2. Inspect the spark plugs for excessive carbon buildup and replace them if necessary; 3. Check the fuel pressure and replace components if needed; 4. Replace engine mounts or other aging parts. Engine idle refers to the operation state of the engine without any load, where the clutch is engaged, the transmission is in neutral, and the throttle pedal is fully released.

Should I Service My Car When the Time Interval Is Due but the Mileage Hasn't Been Reached?

Vehicle maintenance is required when either the time interval or mileage limit is reached, whichever comes first. The maintenance cycle is determined by two criteria: time and mileage.
