How to Adjust Manual Rearview Mirrors?
2 Answers
Use a flexible plastic card to insert into the gap of the rearview mirror panel; forcefully pry open the clip at the indicated location. Note that there are four symmetrical clips—top, bottom, left, and right. Pry both top clips slightly to create a small gap, then use your left hand to assist in wiggling and pulling the panel outward to remove it. Disconnect the male plug from the panel; be careful not to pull the wires—press the plastic latch on the plug instead. Insert the male plug of the module into the female slot on the switch panel; then, use the original male plug (the one just removed) to insert into the female slot of the module.
Adjusting manual mirrors is actually quite simple. I always pay attention to this detail when driving. After sitting in the driver's seat, first ensure you're in your normal driving position, then manually push or rotate the mirror. Adjust the left mirror so you can see a small portion of your car's body including the rear wheel, with the horizon in the middle of the mirror. Do the same for the right mirror, mainly to eliminate blind spots and avoid missing vehicles behind when changing lanes. The key is to make multiple small adjustments until the view covers the rear lanes. I recommend doing this while parked, as it's dangerous to adjust while driving. Regularly check if the mirrors are secure, and tighten any loose screws to prevent future issues. Remember, proper adjustment enhances driving safety, especially at night or in rainy conditions. Don't neglect it - just a few minutes can eliminate potential hazards.
