How to Adjust Idle Speed with Electronic Throttle?
1 Answers
Methods for adjusting idle speed with electronic throttle: The idle speed of an electronic throttle cannot be adjusted manually. It can only be adjusted using a car's computer diagnostic tool through the engine's control software. Nowadays, the idle speed adjustment for many car engines is based on the electronic throttle's regulation of the incoming air volume. Generally, this adjustment is managed by the engine's control system, and there is no way to manually adjust the electronic throttle's idle speed. Symptoms of unstable idle speed include: engine shaking during idle operation and uneven RPM. Causes may include: clogged idle air ports, malfunctioning idle control devices, weak spark in individual spark plugs, poor sealing of certain valves, leaks in the intake manifold, incorrect ignition timing (too early or too late), or improper idle speed adjustment.
