How to Adjust Headlight Height?

First, choose a flat surface and park the car about five meters away from a wall, ensuring the vehicle body is perpendicular to the wall. Check if the heights of both sides are equal; the right side can be slightly higher than the left. If the right side is lower than the left, use a hex key to adjust. Adjust the height of the left and right headlight assemblies by aiming at the wall.
I often adjust my car headlight height myself, which I find both fun and safety-enhancing. Before adjusting, always check the car manual to locate the adjustment point, usually a screw or gear behind the headlight under the hood. Park on level ground facing a wall at night, turn on the headlights to observe the beam height. Use a hex key to gently turn the screw—clockwise to raise, counterclockwise to lower—making small adjustments until the beam is centered at an appropriate height. Setting it too high can blind oncoming drivers, increasing accident risks; too low limits visibility and compromises safety. After adjustment, test drive to ensure comfortable and secure nighttime driving. Remember, all headlight types—halogen or LED—require proper height for optimal visibility, and it's a task easily managed with a little time.
