How to Adjust Car Engine RPM?
1 Answers
First, observe the idle speed in RPM and note its position. Locate the hood release switch and open the engine hood. Find the idle speed adjustment point. If unsure, trace from the air filter - the tube connector of the air filter is typically the adjustment location. Prepare two wrenches to secure and adjust. Tighten the idle cable slightly if RPM is too low, or loosen it if RPM is too high. After adjustment, verify the tachometer shows approximately 1000 RPM at idle, then check if the engine operates normally.
