How to Adjust a Motorcycle Carburetor?
1 Answers
Some are mixture carburetors, which have screws on them. They are located between the intake pipe and the air filter. For the carburetor's mixture screw, turning it clockwise leans the mixture, while turning it counterclockwise enriches the mixture. Some carburetors have a temperature-controlled enrichment valve (i.e., electric choke), which automatically enriches the mixture during startup. There is also a type of carburetor that combines both forms, using manual control for the rotary throttle and a diaphragm for the lift-type throttle, known as the CV type. The carburetor should be cleaned in a clean area. When wiping the external surface of the carburetor, use a dedicated carburetor cleaner or industrial gasoline to clean the internal components.
