To put engine coolant in your car, first ensure the engine is off and completely cool. Locate the coolant reservoir, which is a plastic container with a fill line, or the radiator cap if your vehicle has one. If necessary, mix concentrated coolant with distilled water to a 50/50 ratio. Following the filling process to the appropriate line, the cap must be securely replaced and any spills cleaned up; then, the engine should be started in order to circulate the coolant and remove air from the system.
