How to Add Car Coolant?
1 Answers
The method for adding car coolant is as follows: 1. Open the front engine cover and check for any signs of leakage at the connections of the radiator, hoses, and other components; 2. After confirming no leaks, open the filler cap or radiator cap to allow faster coolant drainage; 3. Locate the coolant drain outlet on the vehicle's radiator. Some models may not have a radiator drain outlet, in which case you can drain the antifreeze by removing the heater hoses; 4. After draining the antifreeze, reinstall the drain plug or heater hoses, then add clean water to the radiator; 5. Start the engine and let the water circulate for 2 to 3 minutes before draining it again; 6. After cleaning and draining all the water, reinstall the drain hose or heater hoses, and then you can add new antifreeze; 7. After filling, start the engine and let it circulate for about 10 minutes. At this point, the coolant level will drop slightly as air is purged from the cooling system. Add more antifreeze until it reaches the maximum mark on the filler tank.
