How to Activate the Lift Mode on the Grand Cherokee?

First, press and hold the air suspension button continuously without releasing or intermittently pressing until the indicator light on the button starts flashing. When the vehicle is lifted by a jack, the air suspension system will close the relevant solenoid valves, and the computer will memorize the vehicle's height to maintain the original height after the vehicle is lowered. This refers to the engine running state. During driving, if the vehicle height changes beyond a certain range, the air suspension system will adjust the vehicle height at regular intervals. When the air suspension system is activated by the remote key, door switch, or trunk lid switch, the system will check the vehicle height via the body level sensors.
I've been driving a Grand Cherokee for a while, and the first thing I do after starting the vehicle is to find the air suspension settings on the center console. There's usually a button with a lifting icon on the left side of the steering wheel or the lower right corner. Pressing it will display mode options on the screen, such as Normal, Off-road 1, or Off-road 2. Operating it while parked is safest, as adjusting the height while driving can cause shaking and affect balance. I often go off-road for fun, and raising it to the highest level increases ground clearance to avoid scraping the undercarriage. Afterward, remember to return to normal height for better fuel efficiency and to prolong component life. However, avoid using this function too frequently—air springs are durable but still wear out. If the button doesn't respond, check if the vehicle is unlocked or if the battery has enough charge. These small details make off-roading smoother and more reassuring.
