How to Activate the Lift Mode of Audi A8 Air Suspension?

When the vehicle is off the ground, the air suspension system will close the relevant solenoid valves while the computer memorizes the vehicle height, ensuring the vehicle maintains its original height upon landing. This occurs when the engine is running. During driving, if the vehicle height changes beyond a certain range, the air suspension system will adjust the vehicle height at regular intervals. When the air suspension system is activated by the remote key, door switch, or trunk lid switch, the system will check the vehicle height via the body level sensors. If the vehicle height is below the normal level to a certain extent, the air storage tank will provide pressure to raise the vehicle to the normal height.
Every time I drive my Audi A8 and want to raise the chassis into lift mode, the operation is quite simple. First, start the car, then look at the MMI screen on the center console. Navigate to the 'Drive Mode' menu, where you can usually find the 'Offroad' or 'Lift' option. After selecting it, the air suspension will automatically raise the body, increasing the ground clearance, which is ideal for navigating bumpy roads or waterlogged sections to avoid scraping the undercarriage. The ride feels slightly firmer when raised, but it offers better protection. Remember not to activate it on highways, as the system will automatically lower back to normal to ensure safety. Additionally, regularly check the air compressor and airbags; if there are unusual noises or slow lifting, visit the dealership for inspection. This small feature gives the sedan SUV-like off-road capability, making daily use more convenient.
