How to Activate the Breathing Mode for BMW Ambient Lighting?

Turn on the ignition, and locate the round button below the left side of the steering wheel; press the round button to activate the ambient lighting, then adjust the brightness as needed. Press the MENU button on the center console to enter the menu settings interface on the central screen, then navigate to the ambient lighting menu to make further adjustments.
Last time I was tinkering with the BMW ambient lighting, I tried the breathing mode several times. It makes the lights slowly brighten and dim, which feels super cool. After getting in the car and starting it, tap the iDrive menu on the central control screen, select vehicle settings, then look for the lighting options. There's an ambient lighting effect selection inside. Choose the breathing mode, pick a color you like, such as blue or purple, and save it. Some newer models like the 5 Series or X5 have this feature directly available, but older models might require accessing the hidden menu with codes to activate it. If you're not familiar, it's best to check the manual or online tutorials. Don't forget to set it up safely during the day to avoid distractions while driving. Testing the effect at night is really dazzling, and it can even sync with music rhythms for an even cooler experience.
