How to Activate the Automatic Wiper Function?

The wipers will enter automatic wiping mode, and the wiping frequency can be adjusted via the control knob. Push the control lever upward to the MIST position to activate a single wipe cycle, or move it to the OFF position to turn off the wipers.
To get the automatic wipers working, first make sure your car is equipped with this feature—typically found in high-end models or newer year models. Locate the stalk on the right side of the steering wheel and push it to the AUTO position to activate the automatic mode. There's a small sensor on the inside of the windshield that detects the size and frequency of raindrops; when it rains, it automatically calculates the rainfall and adjusts the wiper speed accordingly. It wipes faster during heavy rain and slower during light rain. I've driven cars with this feature a few times, and it's really convenient—no need to manually adjust it. However, be aware that a dirty sensor can cause delayed responses, so cleaning the glass occasionally helps maintain sensitivity. Overall, this feature is especially useful in heavy rain, helping you focus on driving more safely. If your car doesn’t have an automatic mode, it might be an older model, and retrofitting it may not be cost-effective.
