How to Activate Hill Start Assist?

To activate Hill Start Assist, simply press the ESP button. Once ESP is enabled, Hill Start Assist will be activated by default. The conditions and methods for using Hill Start Assist in vehicles are as follows: 1. The gear lever must be in any position except neutral (for manual transmission models) or in any position except P (for automatic transmission models). 2. The vehicle must be stationary. 3. The accelerator pedal must not be pressed. 4. The handbrake must not be engaged. 5. After meeting the above conditions, when the vehicle is stopped, the driver should further press the brake pedal to initiate Hill Start Assist control. 6. Once Hill Start Assist is activated, the vehicle's braking system will maintain pressure for two to three seconds after the driver's foot leaves the brake pedal, preventing the vehicle from rolling backward.
Hill Start Assist is actually quite simple to use. When I drive a manual transmission car on a slope, I just need to come to a complete stop on the incline and press the brake pedal firmly to activate this feature. The system will then automatically maintain brake pressure for a few seconds, preventing the car from rolling back even when I release my foot, giving me enough time to press the accelerator to start moving. I remember the green hill icon on the dashboard lights up to indicate the function is active. However, it's important to note that if you don't press the accelerator within 5 seconds or keep the clutch disengaged for too long, the system will automatically deactivate. When I first started using it, I was always worried it might fail, but later I found it reliably activates as long as the car is parked on a slope with more than 3 degrees of incline.
