To activate cruise control on the New Lavida, simply turn the switch to the ON position. Turning it to OFF will deactivate the cruise control. Cruise control, also known as speed control system or autonomous driving system, allows drivers to maintain a constant speed without manually operating the accelerator pedal during long highway drives, reducing fatigue and unnecessary speed fluctuations while improving fuel efficiency. The New Lavida measures 4605mm in length, 1765mm in width, and 1460mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2610mm. It features front-wheel drive, MacPherson strut front suspension, and torsion beam semi-independent rear suspension.

I often use the cruise control when driving my New Lavida on the highway. After starting the car, first press the cruise switch with the speedometer icon on the left side of the steering wheel, and a white indicator light will illuminate on the instrument panel. Accelerate to your desired speed, say 80 km/h, then press the SET button—the indicator will turn green, confirming the speed is locked. At this point, you can release the accelerator, and the car will maintain the set speed automatically. To increase speed, briefly press the RES button—each press increases speed by 1 km/h, while holding it down will accelerate continuously. Similarly, use the SET button to reduce speed. The cruise control will deactivate automatically when you press the brake, or you can manually cancel it by pressing the CANCEL button. Remember to turn off the cruise control switch after use to avoid accidental activation. This feature is particularly fuel-efficient and makes long-distance driving much less tiring for your feet.

The cruise control of the New Lavida is operated on the left functional area of the steering wheel. First, press the CRUISE button with the dashboard icon to activate the system, and a white cruise indicator will appear on the instrument panel. When the speed stabilizes above 40 km/h, press the SET/- button to set the current speed. During driving, lightly tap the RES/+ or SET/- button to fine-tune the speed, with each press changing the speed by 1 km/h. For temporary overtaking, simply press the accelerator, and the cruise control will automatically resume after releasing the pedal. To cancel the cruise control in case of emergencies, lightly press the brake for convenience, or press the CANCEL button with an X in the middle. It is recommended to turn off cruise control on rainy or slippery roads, as steering wheel slippage can be dangerous. Regular practice will help you become proficient.

I've been using the cruise control feature of the new Lavida for three years. There are three buttons on the left side of the steering wheel: the top one is the cruise control switch, the middle is the cancel button, and the bottom is the speed setting button. While driving, first press the switch to activate the system. After the dashboard light comes on, accelerate to the desired speed and press the SET button to complete the setting. Adjust the speed directly with the arrow keys—short presses adjust by 1 km/h, while long presses allow continuous changes. Pay attention to the color of the dashboard icon: white indicates standby, and green means the system is active. To cancel cruise control, there's no need to turn off the main switch; simply press the brake pedal. On highways, don’t rely entirely on cruise control—take over the steering wheel in advance when approaching curves. This feature can save about 5% on fuel, making it essential for long trips.
