When I first got my new LaCrosse, I spent a lot of time figuring out the cruise control function. It's actually quite simple: when the speed exceeds 40 km/h, press the round button with the speedometer icon on the left side of the steering wheel to activate the system. At this point, a white cruise light will illuminate on the instrument panel. Then, press the downshift button with the minus sign to set the current speed—the indicator light turns green once activated. To fine-tune the speed, hold the plus button to increase speed or briefly press the minus button to decrease by 1 km/h per press. To pause cruise control, either hit the brakes or press the middle button with an X, but the previously set speed will remain stored in the speedometer. Pressing the RES button on the plus key later will instantly resume the original set speed. In traffic jams, I also discovered that the lane-keeping function works in tandem with cruise control, automatically adjusting the steering wheel angle.

In traffic, just tap the accelerator and then press the upward-pointing arrow button (RESET) on the steering wheel to instantly return to the previous cruise speed. To fully turn it off, just press the cruise control switch button again. All these buttons on the left side of the steering wheel are backlit, making them easy to operate when driving on the highway at night.
