How to Activate Cruise Control in Haval?

Press the CRUISE button to activate the cruise control function, and a white cruise indicator will illuminate on the dashboard. Then, accelerate to the desired cruising speed and press the SET (-) button. During cruise control, pressing the SET button again will decrease the cruising speed by 1.6 km/h each time. Holding down the SET button will continuously reduce the cruising speed. During cruise control, pressing the RES button will increase the cruising speed by 1.6 km/h each time. Holding down the RES button will continuously increase the cruising speed. During cruise control, you can accelerate for overtaking by pressing the throttle. After overtaking, releasing the throttle will gradually slow the vehicle down to the set cruising speed, and cruise control will continue. Pressing the brake or the CANCEL button will temporarily pause cruise control, turning the cruise indicator from green to white. Pressing RES will resume cruise control at the previous speed.
I've always driven Haval cars, and turning on the cruise control is actually quite simple. First, make sure your speed reaches at least 40 km/h—it's generally safer to activate it on highways or open roads. Locate the button on the steering wheel, usually labeled 'CRUISE,' and press it to activate the system. Then, use the adjacent '+' and '-' buttons to set your desired speed. Once set, the car will maintain that speed automatically. Remember, you can always deactivate it by pressing the brake or the cancel button while in use. This feature makes driving much easier, especially on long trips, as you don’t have to constantly focus on the accelerator, and it can even save some fuel. However, always be mindful of road conditions—avoid using it in heavy traffic or complex road sections to prevent delayed reactions. I recommend practicing on straight roads first to get familiar with the controls.
As an experienced driver, I know that using cruise control is not something to be taken lightly. On a Haval vehicle: you need to wait until the car reaches at least 40 km/h, then lightly press the cruise button on the steering wheel to activate it. After that, setting the speed makes driving much more effortless. But safety must be emphasized—avoid using it in rain, fog, or on uneven roads to prevent loss of control. If it doesn't work, it might be because the speed hasn't met the requirement or the button wasn't pressed properly, so you need to double-check. Also, remember to perform regular maintenance—I once encountered a system failure due to a slightly loose wire. Cruise control can give your feet a break, but your eyes must stay on the road at all times. Cancel it immediately if anything seems off. Don't rely on it too much—safety always comes first.
