How Often Should You Start Your Vehicle in Winter?
1 Answers
In winter, it's recommended to start your vehicle every two weeks. When a car remains unused for extended periods, most of the lubricating oil adhering to components that require lubrication will flow back to the oil pan due to gravity, reducing lubrication in moving parts. Precautions for long-term vehicle parking: If the vehicle will be parked for an extended period, ensure to thoroughly clean and organize the entire vehicle before parking. Remove any mud stains, apply wax to the body for protection against corrosion. Place desiccants inside the cabin to absorb excess moisture. Clean out all items from the interior promptly and avoid leaving snacks inside. Risks of long-term vehicle parking: Oil seals may deform and age, the battery lifespan may shorten due to self-discharge, tires are prone to deformation from prolonged stationary position, brake discs may rust, and electronic components are susceptible to moisture damage leading to malfunctions.
