How Often Should the Throttle Body Be Replaced?
1 Answers
The throttle body does not have a fixed replacement interval or service life. It should be replaced whenever it becomes faulty. The throttle body is located at the engine's air intake. Its function is to regulate air entering the engine. After mixing with fuel in the intake manifold, this air forms a combustible mixture that ignites to generate power. Additional notes on throttle body maintenance: 1. Clean the throttle body regularly - excessive carbon buildup can cause engine power loss and increased fuel consumption. 2. Apply lubricant to the fixed metal retaining ring before disassembly to prevent thread stripping. 3. If the throttle opening remains unchanged after cleaning, excessive air intake may cause engine vibration during startup and weak acceleration.
