How often should the Fiesta clutch disc be replaced?

Clutch disc replacement intervals vary depending on individual usage, but generally, it is recommended to replace them after 100,000 kilometers. The main functions of the clutch are as follows: Ensuring smooth vehicle startup: Before starting, the vehicle is stationary. If the engine and transmission were rigidly connected, engaging a gear would cause the vehicle to suddenly lurch forward due to the abrupt connection of power. This would not only damage mechanical components but also result in insufficient driving force to overcome the massive inertia generated by the sudden movement, causing the engine speed to drop sharply and stall. By temporarily separating the engine and transmission using the clutch during startup and then gradually engaging it, the torque transmitted by the clutch can increase from zero progressively. This allows the vehicle's driving force to build up gradually, ensuring a smooth start. Facilitating gear shifting: During driving, frequent gear changes are necessary to adapt to varying road conditions. Without the clutch temporarily disconnecting the engine from the transmission, the meshed force-transmitting gears in the transmission would be difficult to separate due to the high pressure between their meshing surfaces caused by the unrelieved load. Preventing drivetrain overload: During emergency braking, the clutch transmits torque through friction. When the load in the drivetrain exceeds the torque that friction can transmit, the clutch's driving and driven parts automatically slip, thereby preventing drivetrain overload.
