How often should the Corolla's engine oil be changed?

Toyota Corolla new cars mostly default to using Toyota Genuine 0W-20 full synthetic oil, which only needs to be changed once a year or every 10,000 kilometers. Synthetic oil has a wider temperature range for use, a longer service life, and a higher cost; for the same oil film requirements, synthetic oil can achieve this with a lower viscosity. Additional information: 1. Toyota officially recommends using 0W-20, 5W-20, 5W-30, and 10W-30 grade oils for the Corolla. The 0W in 0W-20 indicates the oil's cold-start performance. Using oil with a lower number before the W makes it easier to start the engine in cold weather. The 20 in 0W-20 represents the oil's viscosity characteristics at high temperatures. Higher viscosity oils (with higher values) may be more suitable for high-speed driving or heavy-load vehicles. 2. When selecting the viscosity grade, generally, 5W is sufficient for most regions in winter, while some northern areas (such as Harbin) are better off using 0W for better low-temperature fluidity to adapt to the driving environment temperature. For high-temperature viscosity, a lubricant with a viscosity value of 20 is typically used. However, if driving frequently in congested areas, for older vehicles, or for long-distance heavy-load transportation, the lubricant viscosity can be appropriately increased, such as using 0W-30 oil.
