How Often Should the Clutch Cable Be Replaced?
1 Answers
There is no fixed time limit for replacing the clutch cable; it can be used as long as it is not damaged. The conditions under which the clutch cable needs to be replaced and its function are as follows: Conditions for replacing the clutch cable: The clutch cable should be replaced when it is found that the friction is severe when the clutch is pressed down or when the return is abnormal. Generally, water ingress causes rust between the steel wire and the protective sleeve, leading to poor cable return. Function of the clutch cable: The clutch is located in the flywheel housing between the engine and the transmission. The clutch assembly is fixed to the rear plane of the flywheel with screws, and the output shaft of the clutch is the input shaft of the transmission. While driving, the driver can press or release the clutch pedal as needed to temporarily separate or gradually engage the engine and the transmission, thereby cutting off or transmitting the power from the engine to the transmission.
