How Often Should the Brake Master Cylinder Be Replaced?

Generally, it is calculated based on 12,000 kilometers per year, and it needs to be replaced after 4 years. Brake Master Cylinder Replacement: When the brakes are not working well, first check if the brake fluid is low. If there is sufficient brake fluid, pump the brake pedal several times and hold it down. Then, use a wrench to loosen a wheel cylinder to bleed the brake system. Observe if any air is expelled and if the brake fluid sprays out. If no air is expelled but the brake fluid sprays with low pressure, it indicates an issue with the master cylinder, which requires replacement. Precautions: To prevent corrosion in the brake system, avoid brake pad seizure due to high temperatures, eliminate brake squeal, and maintain good lubrication durability, use products containing ceramic components that can withstand temperatures above 1400°C. Therefore, regularly inspect the thickness of the brake pads or shoes. Under normal driving conditions, the lifespan of front brake pads is 30,000–50,000 kilometers, while rear brake pads last 120,000–150,000 kilometers. Once the brake pads wear down to their limit, they should be replaced immediately.
