How often should front and rear axle oil be changed?

Front and rear axle oil is also known as gear oil. Under normal circumstances, the replacement cycle is 60,000 to 80,000 kilometers. It can effectively improve the efficiency of gear transmission of engine power. In small passenger vehicles, gear oil is also called manual transmission oil. Because the internal components of a manual transmission rely on gears for transmission, and the lubricating oil provides lubrication for the gears, manual transmission oil is also referred to as gear oil. Viscosity is the most basic selection factor when changing gear oil. If the viscosity is too high, it can cause overheating of the friction surfaces and unnecessary power loss. If the viscosity is too low, centrifugal force can cause the oil to be thrown off the journal, easily leading to oil seal leakage. It may also result in insufficient lubrication on the gear surfaces, leading to increased wear and even sintering. Therefore, selecting the appropriate viscosity is crucial. Precautions for using gear oil: Add and change it promptly; replace gear oil in a timely manner; if the generator, starter carbon brushes, or rotor of the vehicle are contaminated with lubricating oil or grease, it can cause poor performance or failure.
