How Often Should a Car Undergo a Full Repaint?

Generally speaking, after a full car repaint, proper maintenance can ensure it lasts for 5-6 years. Solid color paint, also known as single-stage paint, is a good way to distinguish paint with only one color. Typically found on cars priced below 150,000 RMB, it has lower costs, with the cheapest car paint surface costing around 260-300 RMB, depending on the manufacturing process. A full car repaint, whether done at a 4S shop or a repair shop, cannot match the quality of the original paint. The original paint is formed in a high-temperature workshop at 180°C in one go, offering very reliable oxidation resistance and durability, capable of lasting over a decade. If a specialized workshop performs the painting operation, the spraying temperature is at most 50°C to 60°C, and even lower in small repair shops. Generally, it lasts about 5 years before gradually aging and requiring a repaint. In terms of paint choices, such as metallic paint, pearl paint, and standard paint, metallic paint is mixed with metal powder, giving it a textured appearance under sunlight from different angles, which is why it is more popular. Pearl paint also incorporates additives, but instead of metal powder, it uses pearl powder. As a unique white pearl powder, the process is more complex than other paints, naturally making it more expensive. Standard paint is also ordinary solid color paint, cheaper with a simpler process, but its gloss is not as good.
