How Often Should a Car Engine Be Serviced?

Car engines should be serviced every 6 months or 5,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. For turbocharged or Volkswagen engines, check the oil level every 1,500 kilometers, while other models should be checked every 2,500 kilometers. Daily maintenance of engine components includes: 1. Cleaning the air filter; 2. Removing sludge from the throttle valve, as excessive sludge can cause air resistance in the intake system, leading to increased fuel consumption; 3. Cleaning carbon deposits from the fuel injectors, as the combustion chamber is prone to carbon buildup, which can make starting difficult. Carbon deposits in the fuel injectors can also clog fuel passages, distort fuel injection, and reduce atomization, naturally increasing fuel consumption.
