How often is the annual inspection required for a small car driver's license?

Small car driver's licenses are inspected every six years. Legal basis: Article 56 of the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driver's Licenses"; If the motor vehicle driver has not accumulated 12 penalty points in any scoring cycle during the six-year validity period of the motor vehicle driver's license, a motor vehicle driver's license with a ten-year validity period shall be reissued; if the motor vehicle driver has not accumulated 12 penalty points in any scoring cycle during the ten-year validity period of the motor vehicle driver's license, a motor vehicle driver's license with long-term validity shall be reissued. Notes on driver's license annual inspection: No annual inspection is required during the six-year validity period of the driver's license. The driver should apply for a replacement at the traffic police branch under their jurisdiction within 90 days before the expiration of the validity period; drivers holding A, B, N, and P licenses, although no longer required to undergo annual inspections during the validity period, should go to the vehicle management section of the traffic police branch under their jurisdiction within 15 days of the original annual inspection deadline to obtain the "Motor Vehicle Driver's License Application Form", fill it out as required, attach a photo, undergo a physical examination at the hospital, and then submit the application form back to the vehicle management section for computer confirmation.
When I used to run a ride-hailing service, I specifically researched this topic. There is no annual review requirement for regular car driver's licenses now. For our ordinary C1 and C2 licenses, the validity periods are divided into three types: 6 years, 10 years, and long-term. Just go to the DMV for a physical exam and license renewal within 90 days before expiration, bringing photos and your ID card, and pay a small processing fee of a few dozen yuan. Special attention: drivers over 60 years old must submit an annual physical exam certificate, otherwise the system will automatically downgrade their license. Last time I renewed my license, I met an uncle who almost couldn't drive his grandson to school because he forgot his physical exam. Also, if you accumulate 12 penalty points or are involved in a major accident, traffic police may require you to attend a refresher course, which can be considered an indirect review. Driving safety should always come first—don't wait for a review to pay attention to these issues.
