Audi S4 has 354 horsepower. Audi S4 exterior: It is a model based on the Audi A4, with body dimensions of 4749 mm in length, 1842 mm in width, and 1400 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2831 mm. Configuration: The Audi S4 is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged engine across the entire lineup, delivering a maximum power of 354 horsepower and a maximum torque of 500 Nm. This engine achieves its peak torque between 1370 and 4500 rpm and reaches maximum power between 5400 and 6400 rpm.

As an Audi S4 owner, I can tell you this car packs serious power. The 2023 Audi S4 still uses that 3.0T V6 turbocharged engine, delivering a maximum output of 354 horsepower. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive system, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds. The power is completely excessive for daily city driving, and overtaking on highways feels particularly crisp. There are paddle shifters behind the steering wheel - occasionally switching to manual mode for downshifting during overtaking is quite thrilling. You do have to accept the fuel consumption though, around 12L/100km in city driving, but this car is all about driving pleasure.

Recently test drove the new S4, the power tuning is quite interesting. With 354 horsepower paired with a 48V mild hybrid system, the initial throttle response is exceptionally quick. I specifically tested the launch control in a closed area - holding revs at 3000rpm before releasing the brakes, and the quattro system distributed power perfectly. Turbo lag is almost imperceptible, and this generation feels significantly smoother than the previous model. The steering wheel becomes heavier in Dynamic mode, though Comfort mode works just fine for city driving. The brake pedal offers solid feedback, and the front six-piston calipers provide sufficient stopping power without fade even during aggressive driving.

Having studied the horsepower data of the Audi S4, the current 3.0T engine's 354 horsepower is considered a benchmark in its class. The highlight lies in its 500 N·m peak torque, which is fully available from 1,500 rpm, giving it an edge in traffic light sprints. The transmission tuning is particularly interesting—it shifts up eagerly in normal mode, but immediately drops two gears when switched to sport mode, ready for action. The rear sport differential actively distributes torque during cornering, making the car feel exceptionally responsive both entering and exiting turns. Although the power increase is only 21 horsepower over the previous generation, the chassis coordination has improved significantly.

Tested the power performance of the Audi S4 in real-world conditions, and the 354 horsepower paired with quattro all-wheel drive proves quite reliable. Tried mid-range acceleration from 80-120km/h on the highway - flooring it in 4th gear delivers strong thrust for about 3-4 seconds. The transmission downshifts more decisively than BMW 3 Series, with paddle shifters responding quickly enough. The 58L fuel tank isn't particularly large, and aggressive driving drains range fast. Excellent oil temperature control maintains consistent power even during continuous mountain runs. Sport mode opens up the exhaust note nicely, though more restrained compared to AMG models.

The specs show the Audi S4 has 354 horsepower, but the real-world driving experience matters more. This generation adds an electric turbo, making low-end response quicker than before. Especially when starting on an underground parking ramp, a light tap on the throttle sends the car surging forward. The quattro all-wheel drive provides exceptional grip on wet surfaces, and even under hard acceleration out of corners, the rear stays planted. Comfort mode is sufficient for daily driving, while Dynamic mode makes the throttle overly sensitive. The 255-wide tires ensure minimal slippage even at full power. Personally, I feel this level of performance is wasted on grocery runs—it truly shines on mountain roads or high-speed cruising.
