The Besturn B50 requires an annual addition of 10% to 15% Freon. When the pressure gauge indicates normal levels, immediately rotate the piercing pin in the can tap clockwise to its lowest position and tighten it, then move the low-side port connector of the air conditioning system. Introduction to Freon: Freon is a common refrigerant with many varieties, including R22, R32, R134a, etc. Freon is typically a gas at room temperature and pressure, with a slight aromatic odor. Under low temperature and high pressure, it appears as a transparent liquid. It can mix in any proportion with halogenated hydrocarbons, monohydric alcohols, or other organic solvents, and different Freon refrigerants can also mix with each other. Due to its strong chemical stability, thermal stability, low surface tension, easy phase change between gas and liquid, non-toxicity, oil affinity, and low cost, Freon is widely used in industries such as refrigeration, foaming, solvents, aerosols, and cleaning electronic components. Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs): Hydrochlorofluorocarbon products, abbreviated as HCFCs, mainly include R22, R123, R141, R142, etc. Their ozone depletion potential is only a few percent of that of R11. Therefore, HCFCs are currently considered the most important transitional substitutes for CFCs. Under the Montreal Protocol, R22 is scheduled to be phased out by 2020, and R123 by 2030.

Last year, the air conditioning in my Besturn B50 at home wasn't cooling well. The mechanic at the repair shop said it needed refrigerant recharge. He told me that the Besturn B50 typically requires 500-600 grams of Freon, and it must be added while monitoring with a pressure gauge, not just by feel. The mechanic first used a machine to evacuate the system, then slowly injected it into the low-pressure pipe. He mentioned that during summer heat, the pressure should be maintained at 25-30 psi, and slightly lower in winter. After the recharge, the cold air blew strong, but the mechanic specifically warned that if there's a leak in the pipes, adding more refrigerant won't help. I later learned that regularly cleaning the AC filter can help maintain cooling efficiency longer, and the refrigerant should be completely replaced every five years or so.

Helped a friend deal with a Besturn B50 air conditioning issue and learned some tricks. This model typically requires around 500 grams of refrigerant, but the actual amount depends on gauge readings. Standard pressure varies with ambient temperature - at 25°C, the low-pressure side should read approximately 25-35 psi. Always check system pressure first: too low may indicate refrigerant leakage, while too high could signal compressor problems. Using an electronic scale for charging is far more accurate than visual estimation. After charging, test-run for ten minutes - vent temperature should drop to about 8°C to pass. Remember never to mix different refrigerant types, with R134a being the most commonly used specification.

Last time I made a fool of myself when adding refrigerant to my Besturn B50. I thought adding three or four cans would be enough, but the mechanic told me the standard amount for this car is about 550 grams, so two 250-gram cans are just right. The key is to observe the temperatures of the high and low-pressure pipes—the low-pressure pipe should frost but not excessively, while the high-pressure pipe should be hot to the touch but still manageable. That time I added too much, causing the compressor to hum loudly, and the cooling performance actually worsened. It only returned to normal after releasing some refrigerant. Parking in the shade to avoid direct sunlight can also protect the air conditioning system. If you notice any strange odors, it’s time to check for refrigerant leaks.

What are the test items for C2 Subject 3?

According to the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driver's Licenses", the C2 Subject 3 test items include: preparation for getting on the car, starting, driving in a straight line, changing lanes, parking by the roadside, going straight through intersections, turning left at intersections, turning right at intersections, passing pedestrian crossings, passing school zones, passing bus stops, meeting oncoming vehicles, overtaking, making U-turns, and driving at night. C2 permitted vehicle types: According to the "Permitted Vehicle Types and Codes", a C2 driver's license allows driving small and micro automatic transmission passenger cars, as well as light and micro automatic transmission cargo vehicles. It also includes light and micro automatic transmission special-purpose vehicles and small automatic transmission passenger cars specially designed for upper limb disabled persons. Precautions for the C2 Subject 3 test: Starting the car (first adjust the seat, rearview mirror, check the brakes, gear, and accelerator to ensure they are normal, observe the surrounding environment, and start when safe); Left and right turns and U-turns (do not move the steering wheel within three seconds after turning on the turn signal, and the speed must match the gear); Passing bus stops, pedestrian crossings, and school zones (speed should not exceed 30 km/h, and check left and right for pedestrians); Gear shifting operations (complete the gear shifting operations within the specified time and distance); Lane changing and overtaking (do not move the steering wheel within three seconds after turning on the turn signal, and complete within the specified time and distance); Driving in a straight line (speed should not be lower than 40 km/h, steering wheel fluctuation should not exceed three degrees, and complete within the specified distance); Passing traffic lights (stop and wait at red lights, and always use first gear when starting after stopping); Parking by the roadside (choose a suitable section to park by the roadside within the specified distance). Subject 3 scoring criteria: The following situations will result in immediate failure: Not using the seat belt as required; Blocking or turning off the in-car audio and video monitoring equipment; Not following the examiner's instructions; Vehicle rolling backward more than 30 cm when starting; Using a gear that does not match the speed for a long time, causing the engine speed to be too high or too low; Failing to engage the gear twice in a row while driving; Coasting in neutral while driving; Not following traffic signals, signs, or markings; Not driving at the specified speed; Driving over the solid center line or lane edge line; Driving over the lane dividing line for a long time (more than 15 seconds); Changing two or more lanes continuously; Parking in prohibited areas such as pedestrian crossings or grid lines; Candidate not attending the test at the scheduled time; The following situations will result in a 10-point deduction: Vehicle rolling backward when starting, but less than 30 cm; Engaging the wrong gear when starting or driving; Not using or incorrectly using the turn signal before starting, turning, changing lanes, overtaking, or parking; Turning the steering wheel less than three seconds after turning on the turn signal before starting, turning, changing lanes, overtaking, or parking; Engine stalling once due to improper operation.

What does it mean when a Mercedes-Benz keeps the engine running while parked?

When a Mercedes-Benz keeps the engine running while parked, it indicates that the battery power is insufficient or the battery power is not detected. In this case, you can first check whether the battery terminal is loose and try tightening it. If the car can still be started, you can drive for half an hour or idle for one hour to see if the prompt disappears. If the prompt disappears, it means that the battery's stored power was insufficient before and needs to be replaced soon. Taking the Mercedes-Benz S600 as an example, the car is equipped with a new V12 engine, each cylinder has 3 valves, driven by a single overhead camshaft, with an autonomous driving system with distance radar and an independent air conditioning system for the rear seats.

What is horsepower as a unit?

Horsepower is a unit of engine power, representing the engine's ability to perform work per unit of time, generally referring to metric horsepower rather than imperial horsepower. Horsepower is a unit used to measure the performance of a car engine and is also an important parameter for evaluating a vehicle's overall performance. Simply put, the greater the horsepower, the more energy the engine can release in the same amount of time. A car's horsepower is generally related to its displacement and compression ratio. The larger the volume of gas expelled per engine rotation, the more fuel it consumes and the higher the horsepower. According to the ideal gas law, a higher compression ratio leads to greater horsepower, but it also requires the use of gasoline with better anti-knock properties, i.e., higher-octane fuel.

Can a small tire bulge be repaired?

Tire bulges cannot be repaired because they are caused by damage to the inner cord layers of the tire. The cord layers act as the skeleton of the tire, relying on nylon threads to prevent the internal gas from bulging outward. When several threads break, only the elastic rubber remains to support the tire, leading to uncontrolled internal pressure. This results in uneven force distribution on the outer tire, causing the rubber at the broken cord area to bulge under pressure. Such bulges are irreparable. Even if a repair is attempted by patching a rubber piece over the damaged area, it may look fine superficially, but the internal cord damage remains unfixable. The only solution is replacement. Moreover, since bulges typically occur on the tire sidewall, which constantly deforms and recovers during operation, any patched rubber piece will eventually detach over time.

How to Use the S Gear in Volkswagen Cars?

The method to use the S gear in Volkswagen cars is: 1. Simply push the gear lever to the S position; 2. You can shift from D gear to S gear while driving without needing to press the brake pedal. Generally, automatic transmission cars are equipped with an S gear, where 'S' stands for 'sport', indicating a sporty mode. When using the S gear, the transmission will delay the shift timing until the engine speed reaches the redline zone before shifting. Even without pressing the accelerator pedal, the engine speed will remain around 3000 rpm, providing better power response when the accelerator is pressed. Taking the Volkswagen Bora as an example, in terms of body dimensions, the Bora measures 4663 mm in length, 1815 mm in width, and 1473 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2688 mm. In terms of appearance, the Bora follows Volkswagen's family-style design, presenting a more moderate look. The entire grille area features a horizontal design, offering good recognition.
