The 2018 Magotan 330 requires 6 liters of engine oil. Engine oil, also known as engine lubricant, serves multiple functions such as lubrication and wear reduction, auxiliary cooling, sealing and leak prevention, rust and corrosion protection, and shock absorption. It is often referred to as the 'blood' of a car. Below are the key functions of engine oil: 1. Friction reduction: A sufficiently thick oil film separates the surfaces of moving parts, thereby minimizing wear. 2. Sealing: Engine oil forms a seal between the piston rings and pistons, reducing gas leakage and preventing contaminants from entering. 3. Rust prevention: The lubricant adheres to part surfaces, protecting them from water, air, acidic substances, and harmful gases. 4. Shock absorption: When pressure in the engine cylinder rises sharply, the sudden increase in load on the pistons, piston rings, connecting rods, and crankshaft bearings is mitigated through the lubricating transmission of the bearings, cushioning the impact. 5. Cleaning: High-quality engine oil can carry away carbon deposits, sludge, and metal wear particles from engine components back to the oil pan, cleaning the parts as the oil circulates.

My 2018 Magotan 330 always takes a bit over 5 liters of oil during each maintenance service. The 4S shop technician says this is the standard amount. When changing oil, the old oil must be completely drained, then new oil is slowly added. After filling, the engine needs to run for a few minutes before shutting off, then wait a few more minutes to check the dipstick for accurate reading. Once, overfilling nearly caused issues - the engine sound became muffled and throttle response sluggish, but it returned to normal after removing half a liter. Now I always supervise the oil change to ensure the dipstick shows the middle mark, especially since turbocharged engines are sensitive to oil pressure. The manual states 5.4 liters, but in reality, changing the oil filter consumes about 0.3 liters.

For the maintenance of the Magotan 330, remember to bring 5.5 liters of engine oil. My car has been serviced six times, and this amount was used each time. The mechanic said the EA888 engine is designed to consume this much, but don't be too rigid about the number. Once, an apprentice at the repair shop took a shortcut and poured a full 6 liters, resulting in the car driving like it was wearing a wet cotton jacket, with a sharp increase in fuel consumption. Later, the experienced mechanic used a syringe to extract oil from the dipstick tube, removing about half a small mineral water bottle's worth before it was resolved. If it's a new car that hasn't had its first service yet, the oil consumption will be even greater. If you're changing the oil yourself, remember that the oil temperature should be below 60 degrees Celsius to drain it completely, and after adding oil, you need to check the dipstick two or three times to be safe.

The Magotan 330 requires 4.8 to 5.2 liters of engine oil, depending on how thoroughly the old oil is drained. I've changed the oil myself three times. The first time, I followed the manual and poured in 5.4 liters, which exceeded the upper limit. Now I've learned to be smarter: first add 4.5 liters, start the vehicle to circulate the oil, then turn off the engine and slowly top up to the middle mark on the dipstick. Remember to park the car on level ground before changing the oil, and the oil filter should be replaced at the same time. Once, I changed the oil on a slope, didn't drain all the old oil, and after adding new oil, the level was inaccurate. After driving for two days, the oil warning light actually came on.
