How Much Engine Oil Should Be Added at Once?

The amount of engine oil to be added at once depends on the type of engine. Generally, small-displacement vehicles require 3.2-3.6 liters of oil per maintenance, while larger-displacement engines need around 4.5 liters. Function of Engine Oil: As a lubricant for the engine, engine oil continuously flows into various transmission components during operation, forming an oil film between friction surfaces. This reduces friction resistance, lowers power consumption, and minimizes component wear. Methods to Determine if Engine Oil Needs Replacement: Using an oil test strip: Take a small amount of oil and drip it onto the test strip, then let it sit overnight. Wait for the oil to fully spread on the strip. The sharper the edges between the oil ring, sediment ring, and diffusion ring, the more severe the oil degradation. Using the dipstick: The oil level should be between the upper and lower marks on the dipstick, preferably slightly above the midpoint. Since each car model has a different capacity, the amount of oil added varies and should be slightly below the upper mark on the dipstick. Method for Changing Engine Oil: Lift the car, remove the undercover, and place a container of about 10 liters under the drain plug. Unscrew the drain plug and use an air gun to blow into the oil filler port for two minutes. After draining, tighten the drain plug and wipe it with a tissue to check for leaks. Reinstall the undercover and lower the car. Use a funnel to add oil through the filler port.
