The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque requires 5.7 liters of engine oil. The functions of engine oil include: lubrication, auxiliary cooling, cleaning, sealing to prevent leaks, rust and corrosion prevention, shock absorption, and anti-wear. Taking the 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque as an example, it is a mid-size SUV with body dimensions of: length 4355mm, width 1900mm, height 1635mm, wheelbase of 2660mm, minimum ground clearance of 212mm, and a body weight of 1640kg. The 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged engine, with a maximum horsepower of 241PS, maximum torque of 340Nm, and maximum power of 177kW.

Last time I serviced my 2.0T Range Rover Evoque, I specifically asked the technician. The official manual states 5.7 liters, but in reality, not all the oil drains out completely. I personally watched as they added 6 liters of 0W-20 full synthetic oil, and the dipstick showed just above the middle line. A reminder: after adding oil, be sure to warm up the engine, turn it off, wait three minutes, and then recheck the oil level. The older diesel versions might use 5W-30, so don’t mix viscosities. If you’ve modified the oil cooling system, that’s a different story. This car rarely burns oil, but it doesn’t hurt to check the dipstick every 5,000 kilometers.

My 2021 P250 just had its service, and the dealership filled it with 5.8 liters. Note that the hybrid version with the 1.5T three-cylinder engine requires even less, only 5.2 liters. It's best to watch during the oil change. Don't trust repair shops that pour in a full 6 liters—some owners have experienced oil seal leaks due to overfilling. The genuine oil comes in a silver can labeled with JLR.51.5122 certification. If buying online, make sure to look for this label, or you might trigger the engine warning light. The difference between the upper and lower marks on the dipstick is about 0.8 liters—topping up gradually is safer.

Mechanic's perspective on Range Rover Evoque oil capacity: The 2.0T gasoline version standard is 5.6-5.8L, but typically requires exactly 6L when replacing the oil filter. Actual procedure involves draining oil for 30 minutes, then pouring 5.5L first, running the engine for 2 minutes before shutting it off, waiting 5 minutes and checking the dipstick. If it's half mark short, add 200ml and repeat until reaching the midline. Key inspection point: oil pan bolt torque at 35Nm. Overfilling can damage the crankcase ventilation valve - last year repaired three vehicles with faults caused by excessive oil.
