How much engine oil does the Jeep Compass 1.4T require?

The Jeep Compass 1.4T requires 4.5 liters of engine oil. Engine oil, also known as motor lubricant, serves multiple functions for the engine, including lubrication and wear reduction, auxiliary cooling, sealing and leak prevention, rust and corrosion protection, as well as shock absorption and buffering. Taking the 2021 Jeep Compass as an example, its body structure is a 5-door, 5-seat SUV with dimensions of 4424mm in length, 1819mm in width, and 1635mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2636mm and a fuel tank capacity of 51 liters. The 2021 Jeep Compass has a maximum power output of 127kW and a maximum torque of 270Nm, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
I run a Jeep specialty repair shop, and I'm extremely familiar with the 1.4T engine in the Compass. Normally, it requires 4.5 liters of 5W-30 full synthetic oil, but don't rigidly stick to this amount. First, add 4 liters, start the engine and let it run for two minutes, then turn it off and wait five minutes before checking the dipstick. Gradually top it up to the middle between the upper and lower marks for the safest approach. Just the other day, a customer added half a liter too much by himself, and the oil seals leaked, leaving the entire undercarriage covered in oil. Remember to change the oil filter as well, otherwise, it's like changing the oil for nothing. The oil pan on this car is designed deep, so it's normal for the old oil not to drain completely. I recommend changing the oil every 8,000 kilometers or so; for those who frequently drive long distances, the Mobil 1 EP series is particularly durable.
