How Much Coolant Should Be Added to a Fit?

The Fit requires approximately 6L of coolant to be added, just enough to reach the middle level between the upper and lower marks on the auxiliary reservoir. Coolant prevents the freezing of the liquid in the cooling system during cold winters, which could otherwise cause the radiator to crack and damage the engine block. Coolant Replacement Cycle: For vehicles that operate for extended periods, such as taxis, high-quality coolant should generally be replaced once a year. For vehicles with shorter operation times, replacement can be done every two years or every 30,000 kilometers. To prevent excessive foaming, which reduces the heat exchange efficiency between the coolant and engine components, ensure the product is within its validity period when adding it. Long-life coolant can remain effective for up to three years. If suspended matter, sediment, or signs of deterioration and discoloration are found in the coolant, it should be replaced promptly, and the system should be cleaned. Coolant Replacement Method: Before completely replacing the coolant, conduct a thorough inspection to check for any signs of leakage or cracks in the pipes, with particular attention to the five-way hose. The five-way hose is named for its five connections to different parts of the vehicle. The coolant is distributed to various parts of the car through this hose to perform its function. If there is any leakage of coolant in this section, the hose should be replaced or the connections should be re-secured as necessary.
