How Many Years Until a Passenger Car Reaches Scrap Age?
1 Answers
There is no fixed year limit for passenger cars to reach scrap condition, but the mileage limit for scrapping is set at 600,000 kilometers. Since May 1, 2013, the scrap age limit for private cars has been abolished, with a mandatory scrap requirement at a maximum mileage of 600,000 kilometers. According to regulations, small and micro non-operational passenger vehicles, large non-operational cars, and wheeled special machinery vehicles have no usage age restrictions. The vehicle scrapping process is as follows: 1. The vehicle owner must present their ID, vehicle registration certificate, vehicle license, and license plate to the vehicle dismantling plant's business department to fill out the Application Form for Vehicle Suspension, Resumption, or Cancellation of Registration; 2. Proceed to the license management counter to await notification for fees and surrender the license plate; 3. Submit the application for registration, and for vehicles that have reached the scrap age, a Vehicle Scrapping Notice will be issued; 4. The vehicle owner can then choose a qualified recycling company to dismantle the vehicle as per the notice.
