B2 license holders need at least three years to upgrade to an A2 license. To upgrade to an A2 license, you must have held a large truck driving qualification for more than three years and have no full-point records in the two most recent consecutive scoring cycles before applying. Please refer to Article 14 of the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driving Licenses": Drivers who already hold a motor vehicle driving license and apply to add a permitted driving model must have no full-point records in the current scoring cycle and the most recent scoring cycle before applying. Drivers applying to add medium-sized passenger vehicles, tractors, or large passenger vehicles to their permitted driving models must also meet the following requirements: 1. To apply for a medium-sized passenger vehicle driving qualification: You must have held a small car, small automatic transmission car, low-speed truck, or three-wheeled car driving qualification for more than three years and have no full-point records in the two most recent consecutive scoring cycles before applying; or have held a city bus or large truck driving qualification for more than one year and have no full-point records in the most recent scoring cycle before applying. 2. To apply for a tractor driving qualification: You must have held a medium-sized passenger vehicle or large truck driving qualification for more than three years and have no full-point records in the two most recent consecutive scoring cycles before applying; or have held a large passenger vehicle driving qualification for more than one year and have no full-point records in the most recent scoring cycle before applying. 3. To apply for a large passenger vehicle driving qualification: You must have held a medium-sized passenger vehicle or large truck driving qualification for more than five years and have no full-point records in the three most recent consecutive scoring cycles before applying; or have held a tractor driving qualification for more than two years and have no full-point records in the most recent scoring cycle before applying.
