A minimum of three years is required. Below are the conditions for upgrading from C1 to B2: Hold a small car C1 driver's license for more than three years, with no full-point records in the last three consecutive scoring cycles, aged between 20 and 50 years old, no record of causing a fatal traffic accident with equal or greater responsibility; no record of drunk driving; and no revocation or cancellation of the driver's license within the past ten years. C1 is a code for a type of driver's license. According to the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driver's Licenses" (Ministry of Public Security Order No. 123), C1 refers to a license that permits driving small and micro passenger vehicles, light and micro cargo vehicles, as well as light and micro special-purpose vehicles. It also allows driving vehicles under the C2, C3, and C4 license categories. The B2 license permits driving heavy and medium-duty cargo vehicles or large, heavy, and medium-duty special-purpose vehicles. Heavy and medium-duty cargo vehicles are mostly trucks, such as the large dump trucks commonly seen on roads, which fall under the category of heavy trucks. Large, heavy, and medium-duty special-purpose vehicles refer to vehicles equipped with specialized equipment or devices, such as water sprinklers, concrete mixers, fire trucks, etc. Article 14 of the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driver's Licenses" states that for first-time applicants of a motor vehicle driver's license, the permitted vehicle types include city buses, large trucks, small cars, small automatic transmission cars, low-speed cargo vehicles, three-wheeled cars, small automatic transmission passenger cars for the disabled, ordinary three-wheeled motorcycles, ordinary two-wheeled motorcycles, light motorcycles, wheeled self-propelled machinery, trolleybuses, and trams. For those who already hold a motor vehicle driver's license and wish to add additional permitted vehicle types, the additional types include large passenger vehicles, tractors, city buses, medium passenger vehicles, large trucks, small cars, small automatic transmission cars, low-speed cargo vehicles, three-wheeled cars, ordinary three-wheeled motorcycles, ordinary two-wheeled motorcycles, light motorcycles, wheeled self-propelled machinery, trolleybuses, and trams. Article 15 states that for those who already hold a motor vehicle driver's license and wish to add additional permitted vehicle types, there should be no record of accumulating 12 points in the current scoring cycle and the most recent scoring cycle before the application. For applications to add medium passenger vehicles, tractors, or large passenger vehicles, the following additional conditions must be met: For adding medium passenger vehicles, the applicant must have held a license for city buses, large trucks, small cars, small automatic transmission cars, low-speed cargo vehicles, or three-wheeled cars for more than three years, with no record of accumulating 12 points in the last three consecutive scoring cycles before the application. For adding tractors, the applicant must have held a license for medium passenger vehicles or large trucks for more than three years, or a license for large passenger vehicles for more than one year, with no record of accumulating 12 points in the last three consecutive scoring cycles before the application. For adding large passenger vehicles, the applicant must have held a license for city buses, medium passenger vehicles, or large trucks for more than five years, or a license for tractors for more than two years, with no record of accumulating 12 points in the last five consecutive scoring cycles before the application. Full-time students undergoing driving vocational education who have obtained a license for small cars while in school and have no record of accumulating 12 points in the current and most recent scoring cycle before the application may apply to add large passenger vehicles or tractors.

I just got my C1 driver's license last year and now I'm considering upgrading to a B2 license, as I've heard it allows driving larger trucks or buses, offering more job opportunities. According to regulations, you must hold a C1 license for at least one year before applying, and you must be at least 20 years old. During this period, it's important to drive carefully and avoid accumulating 12 penalty points, or it could delay the process. My friend waited 13 months before applying. He first enrolled in a driving school, then took the theoretical and practical tests—it wasn't too exhausting but required serious preparation. I think this system is quite reasonable, allowing beginners to gain experience with smaller vehicles before handling larger ones, which is safer. If you're interested, check the official information once you meet the requirements, and make sure to prepare all necessary documents to avoid unnecessary trips.

Is it okay to use 92 gasoline regularly and occasionally switch to 98 gasoline?

Under normal circumstances, the gasoline octane rating for a car should follow the instructions provided in the vehicle's user manual. Alternatively, the owner can check the manufacturer's recommended gasoline rating on the inside of the fuel filler cap. If the recommended rating is 92, there is no need to use 98-octane gasoline. Below are some relevant points: 1. 98-octane gasoline: 98-octane gasoline currently has the highest octane rating in China. Although it offers better anti-knock performance and higher power output, vehicles designed for lower-octane gasoline should not blindly switch to higher-octane fuel. Higher-octane gasoline is more suitable for engines with larger compression ratios, while engines designed for 92-octane gasoline usually have smaller compression ratios. Using 98-octane gasoline in such engines may increase knocking. 2. Avoid mixing gasoline grades: Different octane ratings of gasoline should not be mixed. For example, mixing 92 and 98-octane gasoline is not recommended. In special cases, occasional mixing once or twice may not cause issues, but long-term use could negatively affect the engine, potentially leading to carbon buildup, increased fuel consumption, and other issues.

How to Check the Production Year of Your Car

There are 4 methods to check your car's production date: 1. Check the vehicle's identification plate. The plate is usually located below the front passenger door and visible when the door is opened. Besides indicating the vehicle model, it also displays important information such as manufacturer, production date, and power specifications. 2. Check the vehicle's factory certificate. This document clearly states the vehicle brand, model, displacement, production date, and other details, which can usually be cross-referenced with the information on the identification plate. 3. Check the vehicle registration certificate. The registration certificate also records the vehicle brand, production date, and other information. 4. Determine the vehicle year through the VIN. Similar to a personal ID card, each VIN is unique to a vehicle, allowing us to identify the production year.

Can a Car Be Locked Without Turning Off the Engine?

The car cannot be locked without turning off the engine. Methods to prevent forgetting to turn off the engine when exiting the car: 1. Check the tachometer and display screen: Before exiting the car, check if the display screen has turned off and darkened, and if the tachometer reads zero. 2. Steering wheel rising: When setting the steering wheel position, avoid setting it at the highest position. This way, when parking and turning off the engine, the steering wheel will rise. 3. Anti-theft indicator red light: When locking the door and leaving the car, make it a habit to check if a monitoring red light under the car's rearview mirror is flashing. If it is not, it means the engine is still running. 4. Front yellow light must flash once when locking the door: Set this in advance under "Settings" — "Car Lock Settings" — select "Light flashes when car is locked or unlocked." When locking the door, observe if the front yellow light flashes once. If it does not flash, it indicates the engine is still on.
