Additionally, once a car reaches 600,000 kilometers, the DMV will recommend scrapping it, but it's not mandatory. My neighbor's Santana has been running for almost 20 years, and before each annual inspection, he takes it to the repair shop for a thorough check-up. In fact, as long as the maintenance is proper and there are no major accidents, driving for 200,000 kilometers is not a problem at all.
