How many years before a car is mandatorily scrapped?

There is no specific mandatory scrapping period for passenger cars. Vehicles aged 1 to 6 years require inspection every two years; those aged 6 to 15 years need annual inspection; vehicles over 15 years old require inspection every 6 months; starting from the 21st year, inspections are required every 3 months. As long as the vehicle passes inspection, it can remain on the road. According to the Implementation Regulations of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China: 1. Commercial passenger vehicles must be inspected annually within the first 5 years, and every 6 months thereafter; 2. Trucks and large/medium-sized non-commercial passenger vehicles require annual inspection within the first 10 years, and every 6 months thereafter; 3. Motorcycles need inspection every 2 years within the first 4 years, and annually thereafter; 4. Tractors and other motor vehicles require annual inspection.
