Based on frequency, they can be classified as high-pitched and low-pitched. Air horns are commonly used in large and medium-sized trucks and buses equipped with air brake systems. Electric horns produce a crisp and pleasant sound with a volume not exceeding 105 decibels, making them widely used in various types of vehicles. Due to their high volume, air horns are prohibited in urban areas, so all vehicles, regardless of whether they have air horns, must be equipped with electric horns. Electric horns can be further divided into conventional electric horns and electronic horns based on the presence of contacts. Conventional electric horns rely on the opening and closing of contacts to control the electromagnetic coil, which excites the diaphragm to produce sound. Electronic horns, on the other hand, do not have contacts and use transistor circuits to excite the diaphragm for sound production.
