Subject 1 and Subject 4 (Safe and Civilized Driving Knowledge Test) have no limit on the number of times they can be scheduled. Content of Subject 1 Test: According to Article 29 of the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driving Licenses," the Subject 1 test includes: road traffic rules, traffic signals, handling of traffic safety violations and accidents, regulations on the application and use of motor vehicle driving licenses, motor vehicle registration, and other road traffic safety laws, regulations, and rules. Content of Subject 4 Test: Requirements for safe and civilized driving operations, knowledge of safe driving under adverse weather and complex road conditions, emergency handling methods for situations like tire blowouts, and knowledge of post-accident procedures.
When I took my driver's license test, I was also worried about the number of attempts. Both the Theory Test (Subject 1) and the Safety Knowledge Test (Subject 4) allow unlimited retakes as per regulations. As long as you're willing to pay the retake fee, you can reschedule every time you fail. However, the retake fee isn't cheap—around 60 RMB per attempt in our area. I recommend completing all the questions in the "Driving Test Treasure" app before taking the test. If you can score above 95 in three consecutive mock tests, you're in good shape. Nowadays, many young people cram for two days before the test, which is actually quite risky—traffic rules are crucial for future driving safety. Remember not to get nervous during the test; you get two on-the-spot attempts. If you fail the first round, the computer will immediately prompt you to retake it.
