According to the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driver's Licenses," Subject 4 consists of a total of 50 questions, each worth 2 points, totaling 100 points. Questions 1-10 are true/false questions; questions 11-40 are single-choice questions; and questions 41-50 are multiple-choice questions. The exam includes various question types such as image analysis, animated case studies, and textual descriptions. The scope of Subject 4 covers driving knowledge under adverse weather and complex road conditions, recognition of common traffic signs, markings and gestures, accident rescue and hazardous material handling, comprehensive judgment of violations and case analysis, emergency avoidance knowledge, safe driving practices, and driving ethics and civilized driving knowledge. According to the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driver's Licenses," there is no limit to the number of attempts for Subjects 1 and 4. If the first attempt on the same day is unsuccessful, a retake can be conducted immediately. If the retake is also unsuccessful, a new appointment must be made, and no additional fees are required for the retake. However, it is important to note that the validity period of the driver's skill test permit is three years. If the applicant fails to complete the test within this period, the results of any previously passed subjects will be voided. Subject 4, also known as the Subject 4 theory test or driver's theory test, is part of the motor vehicle driver's license assessment. After the implementation of the Ministry of Public Security's Order No. 123, Subject 3 was divided into two parts: the road test and the addition of a safety and civilization knowledge test, commonly referred to as "Subject 4." Subject 4 is the colloquial term for the safety and civilization driving knowledge test under Subject 3 and is not a separate subject. Since this test is conducted after Subject 3, it is commonly referred to as the Subject 4 test. Officially, there is no Subject 4. The safety and civilization driving knowledge test is conducted after Subject 3. Subject 4 Exam Notes: Exam Duration: The exam lasts 30 minutes. If 12 points (6 questions) are lost during the test, the exam will be terminated immediately. Number of Questions: Depending on the type of license being tested, 50 questions are randomly selected from the corresponding Subject 4 question bank. For small vehicle licenses, questions are drawn from a pool of 800, while for large vehicle licenses, they are drawn from a pool of 1,023. Each question is worth 2 points. Question Types: The exam includes single-choice questions (including true/false questions) and multiple-choice questions. The first 45 questions are single-choice, and the last 5 are multiple-choice. The exam also features animated questions, image-based questions, scenario recognition questions, and textual description questions. Retake Notes: If Subject 4 is not passed, only Subject 4 needs to be retaken. The driving school will schedule the retake, and there is no limit to the number of retakes. No additional fees are required for Subject 4 retakes. The driver's license test consists of three subjects: Subject 1, Subject 2, and Subject 3, with Subject 3 further divided into two parts. Subject 1 refers to the test on road traffic safety laws, regulations, and related knowledge; Subject 2 refers to the field driving skills test; and Subject 3 refers to the road driving skills and safety and civilization driving knowledge test.
When I was getting my driver's license, I specifically asked my instructor. There are about 1,700 questions in the Subject 4 question bank, with slight variations possible in different regions. During the computer test, the system randomly selects 50 questions, all of which are true/false and multiple-choice. Our instructor said you need to practice continuously for a week, especially those questions about safe driving and emergency handling, which appear very frequently. It's recommended to use a driving test APP for chapter-by-chapter practice, and first master the 200+ questions in the accident handling section. Recently, defensive driving questions have been added, so special attention should be paid to methods for dealing with sudden situations.
