How many points are deducted for reversing against traffic on a regular road?

Driving a motor vehicle against traffic results in a deduction of three points. According to Article 35 of the 'Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China': Motor vehicles and non-motor vehicles shall drive on the right side. Driving against traffic is divided into two situations: 1. Driving against traffic on a road section: This refers to driving in the wrong direction on a one-way road, which is a violation of the prohibition signs. Due to factors such as narrow roads and heavy traffic, there are currently 31 one-way roads designated in urban areas to reduce traffic congestion. However, despite prominent traffic signs at intersections, some drivers still ignore them and drive into one-way roads against traffic. 2. Driving against traffic at an intersection: This is the most easily overlooked situation. In China, vehicles should drive on the right side. If a vehicle drives on the left side of a divided road, it is considered driving against traffic. Driving against traffic poses significant risks to both the driver and others. Moreover, if a motor vehicle driving against traffic causes an accident with a vehicle driving in the correct direction, the vehicle driving against traffic will bear full responsibility.
