Driving an assembled motor vehicle on the road will result in a fine ranging from 200 to 2,000 yuan and the revocation of the driver's license. According to the "Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China" Article 16: No unit or individual may engage in the following acts: (1) Assembling a motor vehicle or altering the registered structure, construction, or characteristics of a motor vehicle without authorization; (2) Changing the model number, engine number, frame number, or vehicle identification code of a motor vehicle; (3) Counterfeiting, altering, or using counterfeit or altered motor vehicle registration certificates, license plates, driving licenses, inspection qualification marks, or insurance marks; (4) Using the registration certificates, license plates, driving licenses, inspection qualification marks, or insurance marks of other motor vehicles. Article 100: If a driver operates an assembled motor vehicle or a motor vehicle that has reached the mandatory scrapping standard on the road, the traffic management department of the public security authority shall confiscate the vehicle and enforce its scrapping. The driver operating such vehicles on the road shall be fined between 200 and 2,000 yuan, and the motor vehicle driving license shall be revoked. Selling a motor vehicle that has reached the mandatory scrapping standard will result in the confiscation of illegal gains, a fine equivalent to the sales amount, and the vehicle shall be handled in accordance with the first paragraph of this article.
