Different models have varying fuel tank capacities. Generally, the fuel tank volume of a family car ranges between 35-55 liters. Fuel tank volumes of other models: Mid-size sedans and mid-size SUVs typically have fuel tank volumes between 55-70 liters, while large SUVs can have fuel tank capacities of up to 100 liters. The fuel tank volume is usually the maximum fuel tank capacity announced by the automobile manufacturer. Actual fuel tank capacity: The actual capacity of the fuel tank is larger than the nominal capacity. According to fuel safety regulations, the national standard stipulates that the nominal capacity of an automobile fuel tank is 95% of the rated capacity. Therefore, when filling up, the fuel tank can hold about 10% more fuel than the nominal capacity.
