Geely Binyue requires 4 liters of engine oil. It is the latest compact SUV from Geely. Introduction to the Binyue: 1. Exterior design: It adopts the family design language, with details such as the grille, layered front face, side waistline, and floating D-pillar showcasing its differences from existing models. 2. Interior design: The materials and color combinations are exquisite, featuring a flat-bottom steering wheel, floating central control screen, electronic gear lever, and a floating design for the center console. 3. Safety features: It comes equipped with AEB city pre-collision safety system, LDW lane departure warning, BSD blind spot monitoring, and other safety protection functions.

My Bin Yue has a 1.5T engine, and last time during maintenance, 4.5 liters of engine oil were added. The mechanic mentioned that the required amount varies with different engine displacements—approximately 4.2 to 4.5 liters for the 1.5T, while the 1.4T might only need around 3.8 to 4 liters. It's best to check your own manual as each model can differ slightly. After adding oil, remember to start the engine and let it run for a few minutes, then turn it off and wait for the oil to settle to the bottom before checking the dipstick. The ideal level is in the middle of the markings. Adding too much oil can actually reduce engine power and increase fuel consumption. When I first bought the car, I specifically asked the mechanic to teach me how to check the dipstick, and now I can determine if a top-up is needed on my own.

I frequently perform maintenance on my Binyue. For the 1.5T engine, it typically requires around 4.5 liters of oil, while the 1.4T engine only needs 4 liters. However, the actual amount depends on whether the oil filter is replaced, as a new filter will absorb some oil and may require a bit more. During each oil change, we first drain the old oil, replace the filter, initially fill the oil to just above the lower mark on the dipstick, start the engine and let it run for three to five minutes to circulate the oil, then turn it off and wait ten minutes before topping up to the proper level. It's recommended that owners avoid adding oil arbitrarily, as engine specifications may vary by year, and the maintenance manual provides the most accurate information.

My Bin Yue 1.4T model requires approximately 3.8 liters of oil per change. The actual amount added is slightly less because it's impossible to completely drain the old oil. After an oil change, park the car on level ground, and in cold engine condition, pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it, and check. The oil level is best when it's between the upper and lower marks. There's quite a difference between different displacements; the 1.5T version reportedly requires over 4 liters. The oil change interval also affects the amount used - cars driven aggressively retain more old oil. I've prepared a small measuring cup myself to watch the mechanic add oil during maintenance; when 3.7 liters are added, the oil level meets the standard. Regularly checking the oil's color and viscosity is also crucial.
