The Binyue requires 5.5 liters of engine oil. Engine oil, also known as motor lubricant, is composed of base oil and additives. The base oil is the main component of lubricating oil, determining its fundamental properties, while additives compensate for and improve the deficiencies in the performance of the base oil. Engine oil is categorized into full synthetic, semi-synthetic, and mineral oils. The Binyue is a compact SUV under Geely, with dimensions of 4330mm in length, 1800mm in width, and 1609mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2600mm. In terms of power, the Binyue is equipped with two types of engines: a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine.

As an experienced DIY car maintenance enthusiast, my advice for adding engine oil to the Binyue is that around 3.8 liters is optimal. During each maintenance session, I closely supervise the technician's work and have observed that if the old oil is drained particularly thoroughly, it's necessary to add near the 4L mark on the dipstick. I recall during the last service at the 4S shop, the mechanic first added 3.5 liters, started the engine to circulate the oil, waited a few minutes, and then topped up the final 0.3 liters. A reminder to everyone: always check the dipstick yourself after adding oil—too much can cause abnormal oil pressure, while too little can damage the engine. My 1.5T model is in its third year now, and following this quantity for maintenance has never caused any issues. Importantly, using the correct SN-grade full synthetic oil is also crucial.

Just had the 50,000 km maintenance done yesterday and listened carefully to the service manager's detailed explanation about the Boyue's engine oil issue. After draining the old oil with a professional extraction machine, they first added 3.6 liters, started the engine for a few minutes, then turned it off to let it settle before checking the dipstick level. I specifically noticed the service sheet stated the actual usage was 3.9 liters, and the manager said this is the standard amount for the 1.5T engine. However, he also reminded that there might be variations between different model years, and versions with particulate filters require special oil. Owners with electronic oil dipsticks are advised to reset the oil life reminder in the central control system after refilling.

My Bin Yue just had its first maintenance service, and the technician said the 1.5T turbo engine requires 4 liters of full synthetic oil. Before the service, I checked the manual which stated 3.5-4.2 liters, but after draining the old oil for half an hour, they directly poured in a whole 4-liter bottle. The mechanic taught me how to check the oil dipstick: when the engine is cold, the level should be in the middle of the dotted area, and it will rise slightly when the engine is hot. If adding oil yourself, check the dipstick after every half liter poured. I bought Shell Helix 5W-40 oil, which comes in a 4-liter package. It's recommended to choose the specification with certification number A3/B4 when purchasing.

What to Do When the Car Doesn't Respond to the Key Fob?

If the car doesn't respond to the key fob, it may be due to a dead battery inside the key. Replacing the battery should restore normal functionality, as the typical lifespan of a key fob battery is 2 to 3 years. A dead battery is just one of many possible reasons for key fob failure. Other causes include nearby radio frequency interference, interference from thieves, or decoding issues. The mechanism of a key fob involves a wireless communication system consisting of a transmitter and receiver, which is a low-power radio device. The car's control system identifies the signal code through the electronic control unit (ECU). When the radio frequency band used by the car's key fob coincides with that of some equipment in the parking area, interference is likely to occur, leading to key fob failure.

What Causes the Front Wheels to Make a Clunking Noise When Going Over Bumps?

The reason the front wheels make a clunking noise when going over bumps is due to either a damaged damper plane bearing or aging buffer rubber on the front wheel shock absorbers. The connection points between the shock absorbers and the vehicle body are cushioned with rubber, which can harden and age over time. When this hardened rubber is compressed, it produces a clunking sound. To resolve this issue, simply replace the aged rubber on the shock absorbers. Additionally, there are two other possible causes: 1. Suspension arm ball joint: If the lower suspension arm ball joint is loose or has excessive play, it can cause abnormal noises when the car goes over bumps; 2. Aging plastic components: Worn or loose stabilizer bar bushings with excessive play.

How to Open Child Lock Inside the Car?

Steps to open child lock inside the car: 1. Open the rear door of the car; 2. Locate the position of the child lock; 3. Toggle the switch to activate the child lock; 4. Close the door, and it's done. The car child safety lock is a feature designed to prevent children from accidentally opening the door while the vehicle is in motion, thereby avoiding potential harm to them. Child locks are typically located on both rear doors. When the child lock function is activated, the rear doors cannot be opened from the inside but can still be opened from the outside. When the child lock function is deactivated, the doors can be opened both from the inside and outside. This feature is particularly essential when the vehicle is moving at high speeds, and most modern cars are equipped with this function.

What is the normal tire pressure for small cars?

The normal tire pressure for small cars is between 2.4 to 2.5 MPa. According to international standards and requirements, the standard tire pressure for standard tires is 2.4 to 2.5 MPa; for reinforced tires, it is 2.8 to 2.9 MPa. The maximum tire pressure should not exceed 3.5 MPa. Due to differences in vehicle weight, tire specifications, etc., the recommended tire pressure values may vary, and manufacturers usually provide a reference value. Tire pressure is also affected by seasons. For example, tire pressure should be slightly lower in summer because high temperatures can cause tires to heat up, and high pressure may lead to blowouts. In winter, tire pressure should be slightly higher than in summer due to thermal expansion and contraction. However, it is important to note that regardless of adjustments, the tire pressure should always be maintained within the manufacturer's recommended range.

What Causes Black Exhaust Pipes?

The reasons for black exhaust pipes include: 1. Poor fuel quality; 2. Burning engine oil; 3. Poor fuel-air mixture, incomplete combustion of gasoline; 4. Poor coordination between direct injection and turbocharging; 5. Automatic start-stop malfunction; 6. Structural issues with the exhaust pipe. Although black exhaust pipes are not a major problem, long-term accumulation of carbon deposits can damage the engine, increase wear, naturally reduce power, increase noise, and also raise fuel consumption. The car exhaust pipe, also known as the car exhaust flexible pipe, is installed in the exhaust pipe between the engine exhaust manifold and the muffler, providing flexible connection for the entire exhaust system. It serves to reduce vibration and noise, facilitate installation, and extend the life of the exhaust muffler system.

What does 10w-40 mean for engine oil?

Engine oil 10w-40 refers to: 10 represents the minimum applicable temperature of the oil, which is -25 degrees Celsius; W stands for all-season use in both summer and winter; 40 represents the high-temperature viscosity of the oil, and the higher this number, the higher the viscosity of the oil at high temperatures. Engine oil, also known as engine lubricant, serves functions such as lubrication and wear reduction, auxiliary cooling, sealing and leak prevention, rust and corrosion protection, and shock absorption. The SAE viscosity classification for winter oils includes grades: 0W, 5W, 10W, 15W, 20W, 25W. The symbol W stands for winter, and the smaller the number before W, the lower the low-temperature viscosity, the better the low-temperature fluidity, and the lower the minimum applicable temperature. The SAE viscosity classification for summer oils includes grades: 20, 30, 40, 50. The larger the number, the higher the viscosity, and the higher the maximum applicable temperature.
