How many liters of coolant are needed for a Heyue coolant replacement?

Heyue coolant replacement requires 4-6 liters. The full name of coolant should be antifreeze coolant, meaning a coolant with antifreeze function. Coolant can prevent the coolant from freezing and cracking the radiator or freezing the engine cylinder block or cover when parking in cold winter. Coolant replacement method: Before completely replacing the coolant, a comprehensive inspection should be conducted to check for any signs of leakage or cracks in each pipeline, with a focus on the five-way water pipe. The five-way pipe is named because it has five interfaces connecting various parts. The coolant is distributed to different parts of the car after flowing through the five-way pipe to function. If there is any leakage of coolant in this part, the water pipe should be replaced or the interface should be re-fixed according to the situation. Drain the old coolant, then clean the liquid channels with clean water. Add clean water to the coolant replenishment tank, then continuously inject clean water into the tank so that it flows through the engine cooling system. Subsequently, start the car and let it idle for 3 to 5 minutes to circulate the water. The water flowing out of the tank initially will be slightly pinkish. Continue injecting clean water until clean water flows out. Note that do not forget to remove the heater water pipe and drain the water from the heater core. After about 1 hour of draining, add the new coolant through the radiator hose, which is a method to allow the coolant to flow quickly into the radiator. Then add another bucket of coolant to the coolant tank until it is almost full. Start the car for about 10 minutes. At this time, the liquid level will drop slightly due to the removal of some air from the cooling system. Add more coolant until the "MAXT" mark on the storage tank is reached.
With over a decade of car repair experience, changing coolant for Heyue models is a common task. Generally, the total cooling system capacity of regular family sedans is around 5-6 liters, but the actual replacement volume is less due to incomplete drainage of old fluid. I recommend preparing two 4-liter containers, which should be sufficient. Pay attention to the procedure during replacement: always perform the operation on a cold engine. After draining the old fluid, it's best to flush the pipes once with distilled water before pouring in new coolant. After completion, start the engine to bleed air and observe the coolant level in the overflow tank. If doing it yourself, never mix coolants of different colors as chemical reactions may occur. Remember to periodically check the fluid level—this stuff directly affects engine cooling efficiency.
