How Many Kilometers Should an Oil Filter Be Replaced?
1 Answers
It is recommended to replace the oil filter approximately every 5,000 kilometers. The oil filter, generally referring to the oil purifier, is used to remove impurities such as dust, metal particles, carbon deposits, and soot particles from the engine oil to protect the engine. Oil filters are divided into full-flow and bypass types. The full-flow filter is connected in series between the oil pump and the main oil passage, capable of filtering all the lubricating oil entering the main oil passage. The bypass filter is connected in parallel with the main oil passage, filtering only part of the lubricating oil pumped by the oil pump. The functions of engine oil include: 1. Alleviating friction and high temperatures; 2. Reducing gas leakage and preventing external pollutants; 3. Preventing contact between water, air, acidic harmful gases, and engine parts; 4. Buffering the pressure rise at the engine cylinder port; 5. Flushing away dirt generated on the working surfaces of parts.
