How Many Hours Does It Take to Change Car Engine Oil?

This is a simple operation process that takes about 1 hour. However, it should also be noted that if anti-wear agents are used, they should be added after the engine oil is poured in. Adding too much oil will make the car lack torque, while too little will increase engine wear, so car owners should pay extra attention when changing the oil. Additionally, when disposing of used oil, be careful not to pour it on the ground or into the sewer. It is recommended to seal the used oil and hand it over to designated recycling agencies for centralized processing. Here are the steps for changing car engine oil: 1. Wait for the engine temperature to drop, which also allows the oil to flow back into the oil pan. 2. Use a wrench to loosen the oil drain plug and place an oil pan underneath to catch the old oil until it stops flowing. Start the engine and let it run for 30 seconds to allow the oil in the main oil passage to drain out. 3. Use a special wrench to remove the oil filter; apply oil to the oil seal of the new oil filter and tighten it clockwise by hand. 4. Pour the new oil into the engine valve cover filler port, usually filling about three-quarters of the oil container. 5. Start the engine and let it run for 5 minutes, then check for oil leaks around the oil drain plug and oil filter. If there are any leaks, perform necessary repairs. 6. After stopping the engine, pull out the oil dipstick and check that the engine oil level is within the standard range.
