Currently, Dongfeng Renault offers three car models, namely the Kadjar, Koleos, and Captur, all of which are SUVs. Taking the Koleos as an example, this vehicle is a compact SUV equipped with two types of engines: a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine and a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine, paired with a CVT transmission. The Koleos features a MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link independent rear suspension. This model is front-wheel drive, but there are also variants equipped with an on-demand all-wheel-drive system. For urban SUVs with on-demand all-wheel drive, the vehicle primarily operates in front-wheel drive mode, with power distributed to the rear wheels only when the front wheels slip. The on-demand all-wheel-drive system is structurally simple and relatively low-cost, making it well-suited for urban SUVs.

I remember when I was considering buying a Dongfeng Renault car, I checked their product line, which mainly consisted of three models: the Kadjar, the Koleos, and the City K-ZE. The Kadjar is a compact SUV, quite practical and suitable for daily commuting; the Koleos is a mid-to-large SUV with more space and a stable ride; the City K-ZE is a small electric vehicle, convenient for charging and very fuel-efficient for city driving. Unfortunately, Renault later withdrew from the Chinese market, ceasing production in 2020, so no new cars of these models are available anymore. As an ordinary car owner, I think the limited model lineup was mainly due to the brand's poor sales in China, incomplete localization of designs, and insufficient spare parts. Now, buying a used Kadjar or Koleos might still be an option, but maintenance could be a bit challenging. In short, these three models were adequate but never really took off.

As someone who frequently tinkers with cars, Dongfeng Renault only produced three models: the Kadjar, Koleos, and City K-ZE. The Kadjar is equipped with a 1.2T engine, built on a Nissan platform, offering a smooth driving experience. The Koleos is slightly larger, with a 2.5L version suitable for long-distance travel. The City K-ZE is a pure electric vehicle with a range of about 270 kilometers, and its battery warranty is decent. Technically speaking, their electrical systems are simple but prone to faults, especially with common issues like wipers or lights. I've seen many cases while repairing cars, as Renault didn't deeply penetrate the Chinese market, resulting in limited models and hard-to-find parts. Before production ceased in 2020, sales were poor compared to other joint-venture brands, lacking innovative designs. My advice when repairing these cars is to prepare parts in advance—don't wait until they're urgently needed. Essentially, there are just three core models with little variation.

Wow, Dongfeng Renault's car lineup is really cool! Just three main models: the Kadjar, Koleos, and City K-ZE. The Kadjar has a sporty style and is fun to drive; the Koleos is more imposing, with spacious and comfortable interiors; the City K-ZE is a compact electric vehicle, eco-friendly and cute. I test-drove the Kadjar at a car meet—it had responsive handling and a minimalist interior. Unfortunately, the brand later faded and exited the market in 2020, with production halted and no new models. As a fan, I loved their European design elements, but their marketing was too weak, and the limited model range led to lower-than-expected sales. Now, second-hand models can still be fun to collect. Overall, these three are classics!
